Job Description

SNI Companies is working with a large suppler of home decor materials in Monroe, NJ. They are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant with at least one year of experience to join our finance team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the accounting department in various tasks, including managing financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with general accounting functions.

• Process invoices, ensure payments are made on time, and follow up with clients or vendors as necessary.
• Assist with inventory management and postings.
• Reconcile daily and monthly bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy.
• Accurately input financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets, ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Organize and file financial records for easy retrieval.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally in a similar position (e.g., Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk, etc.).
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
