UC's American Sign Language & Deaf Studies on the main campus is seeking qualified instructors to teach American Sign Language (ASL) on a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to students. Applications are being accepted to teach online synchronous and/or face-to-face part-time for the upcoming terms (as needed).

Essential Functions

• On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses to students.
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
• Instructors are responsible for teaching and giving assessments.
• Use UC's course management system (Canvas).
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Academic degree in an appropriate discipline, minimum bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred
  • Teaching experience, preferably college-level
  • Native or near-native proficiency in ASL
  • Online teaching experience
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
