Position Overview The Airport Operations Control Unit Supervisor I schedules, supervises, and directs airport ground operations control activities at a neighbor island airport which involve directly supervising a group of Airport Operations Controller II positions. Minimum Qualifications To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: General Experience: Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the following abilities: meet and deal effectively with people; understand and apply various rules and regulations; prepare reports; act effectively in emergencies. Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in airport ground operations control work which included: assignment and control of aircraft parking positions; direction and control of the movement of aircraft and vehicles on the ramp; inspection of runways; inspection of airfields and aircraft parking ramps; enforcement of aircraft and vehicular operational rules and regulations. Supervisory Aptitude: Applicants must demonstrate the aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision. Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. Security Clearance In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
