We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to support the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH), world renowned National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities Implement bioinformatics pipelines for cellular indexing of transcriptomics and epitopes (CITE-seq) and assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing (ATAC-seq). Develop workflows for Visium HD spatial gene expression analysis. Analyze data from nonhuman primate and murine models of chronic lung disease and cancer. Oversee computational analyses and data management. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team and mentor junior scientists. Effectively communicate with experimental and computational researchers and prepare data for publication. Qualifications MA/MSc or PhD with 4+ years of experience in bioinformatics or computational science is required Understanding of immunology, infectious disease, or cancer is highly preferred. Experience with HPC clusters and statistical and mathematical modeling. Experience exploring and troubleshooting various existing scientific analysis tools.
