About the Role
The Company is seeking a Career Coach to fill a 12-month, full-time, grant-funded position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing early outreach to low-income students, particularly those in middle and high school, to encourage and support their aspirations for postsecondary education, workforce training, and apprenticeships. This role involves identifying students in need of career planning, offering interest inventories and skills assessments, and facilitating the development of individual career plans. The Career Coach will also assist students in enrolling in education or training programs, provide information on career pathways, and connect them with various career awareness activities such as job shadowing, mentoring, and internships. Applicants for the Career Coach position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and hold or be willing to obtain a Facilitating Career Development (FCD) credential. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and proficiency in computer software applications. The ideal candidate will have a background in office management, be adept at problem-solving, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to the mission of the company are essential. The Career Coach will also be expected to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and to provide a continuum of career guidance to support students' transitions from school to the workplace.
