Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax & Economic Incentives Research Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for researching and analyzing economic development tax abatement programs, tariffs, sales tax regulations at local, state, and federal levels. The ideal candidate will also manage critical deadlines, organize response timelines, and compile relevant data to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate economic development tax abatement programs, grants, and other incentives that align with company projects and initiatives
  • Conduct thorough research on domestic and international tariffs, sales tax rates, and regulatory changes affecting our operations or supply chain.
  • Maintain an organized database of tax laws, incentive program requirements, deadlines, and associated documentation.
  • Track application and compliance deadlines and proactively coordinate submission processes across departments.
  • Summarize and present findings through clear and concise reports, charts, and memos to inform leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, finance, operations) to ensure timely responses to inquiries and filing obligations.
  • Monitor policy developments and emerging trends in economic development and taxation that may impact business strategy.
  • Support due diligence and compliance reviews related to incentive programs and tax obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Economics, Public Policy, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to interpret complex regulations and synthesize key takeaways.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, databases, and research platforms preferred (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg Tax).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments and managing multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with state and local government incentive structures.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations or customs processes.
  • Experience with CRM or project management software (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Trello).
