Job Description Estimator - Custom Machinery | Spartanburg, SC We are seeking an Estimator in Spartanburg, SC to play a key role in evaluating project requirements, preparing precise cost estimates, and collaborating with sales and engineering teams to secure new machinery projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background and experience estimating custom-engineered machinery or industrial equipment . Position Highlights: Location: Spartanburg, SC (Remote possible after training) Pay Rate: $28.84 - $48.08 per hour Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM Term: 6-month contract-to-perm (Direct hire possible) Travel: 10% - 50% (varies based on project complexity) Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed cost estimates for custom machinery based on customer specifications. Work closely with sales engineers and design teams to assess feasibility, materials, and labor costs. Analyze technical drawings and documentation for accurate quoting. Coordinate with suppliers and procurement to obtain pricing for components and materials. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating templates . Assist in preparing formal proposals and customer quotations . Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in estimating custom machinery, fabrication, or industrial equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes . Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings . Experience with estimating software, ERP systems, and CRMs .
