Job Description

As the Materials Manager, you will oversee materials planning and inventory management across the facility, driving improvements in material flow to support a lean manufacturing environment. Your leadership will be key in optimizing logistics, minimizing costs, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal materials management activities at the Jackson, GA facility.
• Develop and implement a materials strategy to enhance customer service, increase inventory turns, and minimize excess inventory.
• Optimize material flow within the manufacturing facility by streamlining logistics processes to reduce costs, maximize resource utilization, and decrease work in process.
• Provide leadership and direction to Warehousing and Receiving teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, scrap transaction validation, and record-keeping.
• Oversee the annual inventory process and audit plant scrap to maintain compliance and operational integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating strong leadership and talent development skills.
• Proven problem-solving ability with a track record of driving process improvements.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
• Ability to provide strategic and hands-on leadership in all aspects of materials management.
• Experience working with MRP systems.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• A results-driven change agent with strong people and project management skills.
• Preferance for candidates who fork lift certification.
