GCHS is looking for a
full time Medical Records Coder who is a detail-oriented individual who will play a crucial role in translating patient medical information from documentation into standardized codes for billing and record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with health care regulations. This position will code and abstract patient medical records using a standardized coding system.
This position would be a work from home remote role. Responsibilities - Examine patient charts, reports, and other medical documents to identify relevant information
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of medical records.
- Identify and report any missing or incomplete documentation.
- Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using coding systems like ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS.
Requirements - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Coding certification preferred
- Works well in environment with firm deadlines; results oriented
- Excellent analytical skills required
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skill
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
