*Must have NJ Nursing License*Position Overview:Private duty nursing at school.The School Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct school nursing services in an effort to promote prevention, medical management and academics. Pay and benefits:In-house trainings provided by Aveanna Clinicians: Trach/Vent, Adult to Peds, etc. Full-time, Part-time, Per Diem work availableMedical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Sick Leave, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Stock Purchase ProgramProfessional development and growth opportunities availableEssential Job Functions:* Maintain standards of nursing while providing care under the supervision of a registered nurse* Perform treatments and/or procedures with skill and competence* Maintain and follow physician order for any invasive procedure and/or skill. Administer medication as per MD order and/or parental consent* Attend Health Plan meetings and school conferences when applicable; assisting with the plan of care under the direction of a physician, registered nurse, school designee and/or parent* Attend appropriate continuing education programs as per licensure requirements and participate in Aveanna in-servicing and training as offered* Exhibit behavior supporting and promoting student's rights and overall wellbeing* Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures that affect the health, safety, and wellbeing of students in the school health setting * Report any changes in the student's mental, physical, or environmental condition (including any incidents) to the physician, nursing supervisor, school designee and parent as applicable* Recognize and report signs of substance abuse, physical abuse or neglect* Provide a clean and safe environment within the school, including the safe use of equipment. Maintain a neat and orderly workspace* Identify appropriate methods for storage of equipment, supplies, and medications* Provide individual teaching and training with student and/or others in an effort to encourage and promote student independence when applicable* Collaborate, coordinate and supervise services with others in order to promote academics and individualized student needs* Accurately document services provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures on the day the services are rendered* Submit nursing documentation, logs, reports and timesheets according to company guidelinesRequirements:* Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing* Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice* Current CPR certification* Current Basic Life Support certification* Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and proceduresAdditional state specific requirements:* Continuing Education as required by stateOther Skills/Abilities:* Attention to detail* Time Management* Leadership skills* Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution* Good organization and communication skillsPhysical Requirements:* Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English* Must be able to travel* Must be able to lift 50 pounds* Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance* Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting * Must be able to sit and climb stairs* Must have visual and hearing acuity* Must have strong sense of smell and touch* Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance* Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transportEnvironment:* Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions* Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseasesOther Duties:* Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
