Salary: $21.34 an hour

 

The impact you will have: As a van driver you will safely transport students and staff. You are often the first and last San José Unified employee our students interact with each day. What you bring:

  • Completion of 10th grade or equivalent
  • Valid California Class B License or Permit
  • Valid Commercial Medical Certificate
  • Valid First Aid certification (Red Cross, EMSA or CHP)
  • Certified DMV Record completed within last 30 days. To obtain this submit Request for Own Driver License/Identification Card or Vehicle/Vessel Registration Record to DMV and be sure to check the box at the top to "Certify the record as a true copy of record".   • Successful completion of San José Unified van driving training program (you may be invited to participate after submitting your application)
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration at
  • Spanish bilingual is preferred
  • Note: Special Driving Certificate to drive a Type 1 school bus with an automatic transmission must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
