World Central Kitchen is seeking a Warehouse Associate that is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping products, organizing inventory, and stock. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail. This position will be an integral part of our inventory control team and will be tasked with performing weekly and daily counts of products to confirm stock levels.

Additionally, the candidate must be willing to travel occasionally and have the flexibility to support WCK’s efforts across multiple time zones, including during nights, holidays, and weekends when necessary. This is a full-time non exempt position based in Capitol Heights, MD, and requires a minimum of five (5) days on-site per week. This position reports to the Facility and Fleet Manager, ROC (Relief Operations Center) East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily receipts of inbound shipments ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process.
• Follow established receipt procedures, including confirming counts and verifying delivered items.
• Assign warehouse locations and properly store newly received stock.
• Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts to confirm stock levels.
• Identify, report, and resolve discrepancies in inventory levels in a timely manner.
• Build Activation Kits for the Relief Teams.
• Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and load activation orders when needed.
• Organize, sanitize, and palletize reusable activation materials from the field.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing warehouse and dock areas to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist with special projects, facility-related tasks, and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School and/or equivalent education.
• 1-2 Years Experience in a warehouse, supply chain or production environment.
• Familiar with State and Federal Safety Protocols and Regulations.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and safely.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Flexibility to travel when necessary to support organizational needs.
• Must have valid Driver's License.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with warehouse equipment (Forklift, Electric Jack and Pallet Jack).
• Basic Computer Skills (Email, IM, Microsoft Office).
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in inventory control, material handling, or logistics.

Additional Notes

• Possibility of training and travel for the individual in this position to assist our relief operations team.
• Fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
• Requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions depending on the warehouse facility.
• Must be able to adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records (Highly desirable).

Physical Aspects/Work Environment:

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 USD Per Hour, Depends On Experience
