Introduction and Background: Client is seeking to hire a skilled XR Developer for a six-month contract to join our Innovation Team. The primary focus will be to develop a Proof of Concept (POC) for the Apple Vision Pro (AVP), with the potential for contract extension or full-time employment based on performance and project growth. This role will play an integral part in building immersive and innovative XR experiences as we continue to build out our capabilities in this space.
Job Description: The contracted XR Developer will work primarily on creating a virtualized command center for our autonomous drone pilots. This command center will provide real-time data from drones and various external sources such as weather and air traffic, enabling pilots to control their drones within an immersive AVP environment. The developer will likely also contribute to other ongoing XR projects within the Innovation Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop XR experiences, with a specific focus on the Apple Vision Pro platform.
Create a virtual command center to integrate real-time data from drones, weather, and air traffic control.
Collaborate with the Innovation Team to ensure seamless functionality and integration of XR experiences.
Potentially assist with other XR-related projects as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements: The following are all preferred but note that I have no binary requirements for paper qualifications. I would prefer to see their portfolio of previous work to understand and evaluate what they are capable of.
Proven experience in building XR experiences.
Proficiency with Unity for XR development.
Portfolio demonstrating relevant XR development work.
At least a couple of years of professional experience in the field.
Experience with developing for the Apple Vision Pro platform is a plus, but not required.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Remaining up to date on research and new concepts in this ever-evolving field
